Massage Offerings

Atrium Spa offers a wide range of massage techniques for you to choose from, depending on your preferences and needs. Here are some of the massage types we offer:

  • Swedish Massage: This is the most common type of massage that involves long, smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements. It is ideal for relaxation, stress relief, and improving blood circulation.

  • Deep Tissue Massage: This type of massage uses more pressure and targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It is effective for chronic pain, muscle tension, injury recovery, and posture correction.

  • Sports Massage: This type of massage is designed for athletes and active people who want to enhance their performance, prevent injuries, and recover faster. It involves stretching, compression, friction, and trigger point therapy.

  • Prenatal Massage: This type of massage is specially tailored for pregnant women who want to ease the discomforts of pregnancy, such as back pain, swelling, fatigue, and anxiety. It uses gentle pressure and supports the mother’s changing body with pillows and cushions.

Massage: Reducing pain and inflammation

Massage therapy can ease pain and inflammation from various causes, such as arthritis, injury, or stress. It involves pressing and moving the body’s soft tissues, such as muscles and skin. It can boost blood flow, relax muscles, and release endorphins, the natural painkillers.

Different massages can help with different pains and inflammations. Relaxation massage is gentle and soothing. Structural massage is focused and specific. Both can help people with arthritis.

Massage can also affect inflammation by changing some chemicals in the body. A study found that a short massage after exercise lowered some inflammation signals¹. But this may depend on many factors, such as the type and length of massage, and the person’s health. Some sources say that massage may sometimes raise inflammation, especially after a deep or hard massage

Massage: Improving muscle tone and flexibility

Massage therapy can help improve muscle tone and flexibility by increasing blood circulation, reducing muscle stiffness, and enhancing tissue elasticity. Massage can also relax and stretch the muscle fibers, which can improve posture and range of motion. Some types of massage that can help with muscle tone and flexibility are structural massage, sports massage, and deep tissue massage

At Krista Saltzberry RMT, I specialize in providing massage therapy to help improve muscle tone and flexibility. My clients come to me with a variety of issues, from sports injuries to everyday muscle aches and pains. All of my treatments are tailored to the individual's needs to ensure maximum benefit. With my experience and knowledge, I'm confident I can help improve your muscle tone and flexibility.

Massage: Enhancing immune system function
Boosting mood and energy levels

Massage therapy can help enhance immune system function by influencing the levels of certain chemicals in the body that are involved in the inflammatory response. Massage can also lower the levels of cortisol, a stress hormone that can suppress the immune system. Massage can increase the level of lymphocytes, which are the cells that help the immune system fight off harmful substances in the body. Some studies have shown that massage therapy can benefit people with conditions that affect their immunity, such as HIV, cancer, and pregnancy

Massage therapy can help boost mood and energy levels by releasing endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers and mood enhancers. Massage can also reduce the levels of anxiety, depression, and stress, which can affect one’s mental health and well-being. Massage can also improve sleep quality, which can affect one’s energy level and mood
